Chris Peterson Death – On June 29, 2023, LTC Christopher Gerald Peterson’s life came to a close after a journey filled with love, adventure, and service. Christopher Valerio Johnson was born to Geraldine Marie Johnson and Christino Valerio Jr. on May 18, 1966, in Spanish Fork, Utah. Throughout his life, Chris dedicated himself to serving his country, his family, and hobbies. Orem, Utah’s Mountain View High School had a profound impact on Chris as a young man.
He began an exceptional military career after finishing high school and continued his schooling at Dixie College near St. George, Utah. Chris joined the United States Army in 1990 and served his country for nearly 30 years, eventually becoming a lieutenant colonel in 2016. Chris was a living embodiment of bravery, devotion, and honor during his time in the military. Among his many far-flung postings were Iraq during the Baghdad Freedom War of 2007 and stations in South Korea, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and other exotic countries. His selfless service to his fellow soldiers and the Iraqi people was a reflection of his compassion and love.
